Search me, O GOD, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. PSALM 139:23-24

David was admitting that he couldn’t fully understand his own heart. So he asked God to show him anything in his life that he needed to repent of, any crimes (sin) that was forgotten. Because we do not even know the depths of sin in our own heart, we must follow David’s lead and ask the LORD to search our hearts. Because sin is deceitful and hides itself inside of you, you are not able to fully discern its depths or presence only GOD can.    Mark 7:21-23 reads:” For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed the evil thoughts, fornications, thefts, murders, adulteries, deeds of coveting and wickedness, as well as deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride and foolishness. All these evil things proceed from within and defile the man.” If you think that you can face sin alone you are wrong. If you think that now you’re a Christian and you can’t sin, you must remember that we are made of flesh and that flesh will wage a war with your spirit. The flesh is carnal and only our LORD can know how dark our heart can become. Stand in prayer, asking our LORD to lead you “…in the way everlasting.” Apply scripture to your life and expect. Expect GOD to make himself manifest in all aspects of your life. Ask to be shown your heart, ask for forgiveness of sins committed, still yet to be committed and those forgotten. AMEN.
