Righteousness guards the man of integrity, but wickedness overthrows the sinner. Proverbs 13:6 (New International Version)

“Righteousness guards the man of integrity…” Righteousness is not only a higher standard of living; it is not just a goal to meet. It is part of our armor that we should be putting on daily.  It protects us from an enemy that is out to destroy and devour or souls. Righteousness is defined as: ethical conduct, morally upright, in accordance with virtue or morality, morally justifiable and adhering to moral principles. Don’t get it twisted Brethren, it’s not our righteousness that provides security, but that of our FATHER. The beginning of PROVERBS 10:29 reads “The way of the LORD is a refuge for the righteous…”

PROVERBS 13:16 continues “… but wickedness overthrows the sinner.” Most Christians are already failing by thinking that it is necessary to live as part of the world; they therefore compromise their Christian ethics and make a mockery of our LORD. But our LORD can NOT, WILL NOT honor nor tolerate that behavior. His judgment is cast, his presence is glorious. His righteousness is not only our security and refuge “…but it is the ruin of those who do evil.” (second half of  PROVERBS 10:29). For any of those dictionary definitions to make sense we must understand that righteousness can not be defined by what any man holds as righteous, for it would be deferent for each man. It can only defined by the standards that GOD has set forth as moral and righteous.    When you are faced with trails, do what is right in the eyes of our LORD. What course of action can be safer that that which the LORD has provided for you? Stay strong. Stay in CHRIST, Stay in prayer, for the LORD our FATHER walks with us. AMEN
