He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the one who walks with fools will be destroyed. (PROVERBS 13:20) NLV

Why are we told to walk with wise men? "So that you may not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises ( Hebrews 6:12 ESV)." Keeping company with fellow believers helps to keep us in the WORD. We can keep each other up and prepared for our daily struggles. But when that fellowship becomes stagnant, we are in for a world of hurt.
Ever notice how much easier it is for someone of the world to bring a believer back into their old ways than it is for that believer to bring that individual to the ways of CHRIST? Most of the time their brothers/sisters in CHRIST just stand on the sidelines and take a back seat. And that person starts to cut connections to things CHRIST. They start to be swayed into things of darkness. Scripture tells us: "Follow the steps of good men instead, and stay on the paths of the righteous(Proverbs 2:20 NLT)."
Invitations for fellowship start to be refused. They turn a deaf ear when advice is built from Scripture and the words coming from the lips of the dead are sweet. "The ear that hears the rebukes of life, will abide among the wise (Proverbs 15:31 NKJV)."
What does Scripture say regarding those who walk with these fool? "...the one who walks with fools will be destroyed." One reason for that is because Scripture tells us"...the fool speaks folly, his mind is busy with evil: He practices ungodliness and spreads error concerning the LORD; the hungry he leaves empty and from the thirsty he withholds water (Isaiah 32:6 NIV)."
FATHER we pray that our fellowship consist of those whom you consider wise. We ask that our circle of influence consists of those who believe and those who don't. FATHER we ask that we do not be cast as fools but that we are able to shine light into the lives of those that walk as fools. AMEN.
