Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it. HEBREWS 4:1

Take heed that “…his rest…” (the rest of our ABBA, Father) is entered into, only through faith in Christ Jesus. Thru reading the gospel (good news), thru constant prayer and “obedience” we can operate in the promise of God’s deliverance. Remember that an entire generation of
Israel never entered the Promised Land due to their failure to believe GOD.
Rest can mean: to cease from action; no more trying to please God by your fleshly works. To be free from worry; we need to be at peace with GODs forgiveness of our sins. To be settled; believers should stand rooted and grounded in the truth that is CHRIST JESUS. To be secure; we must have absolute trust and confidence in our LORD’s care for us. To have something to lean on; we can rely on the support our GOD has given us and trust Him to supply all of our “needs”.   “…let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short…” Taken alone this could strike fear into the hearts of Christians. But remember that scripture reads “Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid” (John 14:27). And let us not forget that Paul told Timothy “God hath not given us the spirit of fear” (2 Tim. 1:7).   How can we fall short? By thinking that our sin is just too great to be forgiven, by failing to believe in the word of our LORD, by not applying his word to your daily “private” and public life. Scripture reads “Be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.” James 1:22. Brothers, I ask that you stay in the word. Have communion with the LORD thru out your day. Live the word in your life. Show that you are called apart both in private and public. Go forth and speak in authority with the words of GOD. AMEN.
