So let us leave the first things you need to know about Christ. Let us go on to the teaching that full-grown Christians should understand. We do not need to teach these first truths again. You already know that you must be sorry for your sins and turn from them. You know that you must have faith in God.Hebrews 6:1 (New Life Version)

Babes in CHRIST come to the first knowledge of JESUS being born of the virgin Mary. CHRIST as our LORD. CHRIST as GOD in the flesh. And maybe a foggy notion of the Trinity, and that He died for our sins and made a way for us into heaven. But how much more is there to our LORD than just the basics! Once these are learned a Christian must move on to a more intimate knowledge of CHRIST. We can not stay stuck on the basics. After a time those first things learned should be passed. We should not dwell on them as “full gospel” we need to look forward to what new things in CHRIST we have waiting for us to be learned. Philippians 3:13(NIV) reads, “Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,” Paul can be interpreted as saying that, even with his immense knowledge of CHRIST, that is nothing in comparison to what he yet yearns to learn “in” CHRIST.   Babies are first feed milk, then liquefied foods and finally meat and potatoes. The latter is needed to help them grow strong and able. The same is said of Christians. We start with the milk or basic things of CHRIST but must move on to meaty or stronger, intimate, detailed learning’s of our Savoir in order to become mature members in the family of CHRIST. “But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil (Hebrews 5:14 NIV).”   How long has your walk with CHRIST been? Are you at the same place today that you were in a year ago, two years ago? Can you witness with confidence to someone who will ask you for the reason that you have faith in this CHRIST? (Read 1 Peter 3:15). Can you tell that person more than what the world already knows about JESUS?   Hebrews 5:12 (Worldwide English (New Testament)) reads, “By this time you should be able to teach others. But you need someone to teach you God’s word again from the very beginning. Like children, you need milk, not meat.” Brethren I pray that you advance in the WORD, that you move forward with power in CHRIST and crave more of him daily. Do not let these words of our LORD CHRIST JESUS be ascribed to you: “Jesus replied, “No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God (Luke 9:62 NIV).” AMEN.
