Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. Psalm 20:7 (NIV)

Posted in Uncategorized at 1:36 pm by Devotions with MYK. Come, walk with me.

“Some trust in chariots and some in horses…” People trust in all kinds of things. They trust in a fat bald man, in “santa curas”, in paying for superpowers (Tom Cruise), Jeremiah 17:5 (NIV) “This is what the LORD says: ‘Cursed is the one who trusts in man, who depends on flesh for his strength and whose heart turns away from the LORD.”

They trust in mother nature, cows and pigs, Psalm 33:17 (NASB) “A horse is a false hope for victory; Nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength”

They trust in chanting, psychics, in rituals, Deuteronomy 18:10-12 (NKJV) There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the LORD…”

They trust in the “theory” of evolution, in aliens that become gods, they trust not in the truth of One True GOD, but in the naming of false gods above He who is the Alpha and Omega, Isaiah 30:1 (NASB), “Woe to the rebellious children, ‘declares the LORD, ‘Who execute a plan, but not Mine, And make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, In order to add sin to sin.”

If you ask me it takes more faith to have faith in those things and nothing at all, then what it takes to know and believe in CHRIST JESUS. Brethren when you or your families are faced with the ‘gods’ of man remember that, “Simon Peter answered him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life (John 6:68 NIV).” AMEN
