Be dressed in readiness, and keep your lamps lit. Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door to him when he comes and knock. LUKE 12:35-36
“Be dressed …” I’m always dressed. Are you really? How are you dressed? We are to be dressed in our “… armor of light.” Romans 13:12 reads, “The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.(read Ephesians 6:14-17). During our “birth” in CHRIST we are to clothe ourselves in this armor at all times (read Ephesians 4:22-24). We can not do battle in our flesh. The flesh is in love with the world and we will “not” do the things that we “want” to do, but we “will” do those things that we wish “not” to do. “…readiness, and keep your lamps lit.” We need to stand ready at all times. We can’t just represent CHRIST as we feel fit to. We can’t just go and worship him at church then walk out acting as the world. We can’t walk into a party, laughing at the same jokes, using the same language, drinking the same drinks and throwing our “Christianity” aside because it’s not right for that occasion. We are commanded to have our minds prepared for action, keeping sober in spirit (read 1 Peter 1:13). Part time Christians are the simple greatest reason for the world not to follow CHRIST. We praise him with our lips, and defile him with our actions. And our enemy is just waiting for us to fall. Our enemy is just waiting to pick up those souls that are turned off by our hypocritical representation of Christianity (read 1 Peter 5:8). We must stand ready, with lamps lit. Stand ready for our LORD to come at anytime. “…Be like men who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door to him when he comes and knock.” When our LORD comes we need to be prepared to open the door. We need to be ready to let his SPIRIT work in/thru us. We will be given opportunities to show his love, to tell of his grace and mercy, to give witness of the things he has done. Are you ready? The door can be knocked upon at anytime. Are you ready for what JESUS will expect of you when he shows? Are you ready for what JESUS will have you do when the opportunity arises? Will you be left behind? Pray and stand ready. AMEN.

Forgive me. But I must speak on the issue of “666”. Folks have always been interested in “evil”. Whether as partakers are not. With 06-06-06 behind us and the OMEN in theaters I just wanted to remind my fellow Believers in CHRIST what the scripture says about this “evil number”. “Here is wisdom let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for the number is that of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.” Revelation 13:18. People tend to attach stigmas and have expectations and cloak 666 around all sorts of mysteries and such. But we know that 666 is the personification of man and all of man’s sin nature. Nothing more. Not a date. Not a time. Not the end. But the personification of man and all of man’s sin nature. Blessings, In HIS name.
